Community submission by Stu
Oak species:Scarlet oak? (non-native landscaping)
Symptoms:Seeping, Bark discoloration
Setting:Residential area - landscaped
Description:Local UC Ag Extention advisor suggested during a phone conversation that this is more likely a canker than actual SODS. He stated that thus far no confirmed cases he is aware of in the San Joaquin Valley, probably due to the drier climate inland. Hope he is right! Removed limb, but finding that all traces difficult if not impossible to remove. Fast moving infection, whatever it is!
